- Experiences are everything
As we never had Ethiopian food we were quite reluctant to go but what a surprise.
We had one look at the menu and were obviously quite confused as to what is what. The friendly waitress asked if it was our first time and upon confirmation, she took our menus away and said she’ll give us the taste experience.
What followed was an exquisite dining and cultural experience. The food was served traditional style (think tapas) with no cutlery and as it is quite saucy you have to use the injera (think porridge in a pancake form) to scoop it up.
The owner came and explained the dishes to us as well as how there is no preservatives in and is completely gluten free.
We had the traditional coffee at the end and boy was it strong! Also served traditional style.
A must do for all food connoisseurs, even if it is just to be able to say you experienced it.
A pleasant surprise in the Noorwood
Wonderful dining experience for anyone bold, looking for tasty exotic meal to enjoy with friends, in a cozy atmosphere with ambiance
If you’re open to new eating experiences, you have to eat here!
First time here and at first I noticed the simplistic and lovely interior and decorations. Then, as we we were taken to a table, I saw the shoddy tablecloths. Soon to realize it’s because, you eat with your hands, that’s right, no cutlery, and things can get a bit messy! But this was a very fun experience.
The food was delicious! It can be too spicy but they serve goats cheese on the platter and it serves the same purpose as having yoghurt with curries. The way that they prepare their food is very healthy.
Ask the waiter to explain the dishes before you eat if it’s your first time. They know best which combinations go well together.
An experience to remember!
What an interesting, different place! Such friendly staff and authentic, healthy, fresh cuisine! (word of caution – if you’re not a fan of spicy food or tappas-style, finger-food eating, then this is not a restaurant for you.)
Minimalist decor with genuine Ethiopian feel to the interior.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner date at Queen Sheba, and we will remember our dining experience with smiles! 🙂
Really quant little Ethiopian experience, great value for money
Bought through a groupon deal. Having been to Ethiopia I was pleasantly surprised as it was really good and reminded me of exactly what some of the restaurants were like in Addis. Bit of a let down that there was no St Georges beers. Food was fresh and portions were more than we could eat. Would deffinately go again
